Dyffryn House Project – Coal Mine Paintings

I started a painting today of a close up view of an alcove in a cole mine. It was great to get back to painting again. I decided on a palette of blue and black following on from my ink drawings as when observing the coal I noticed a blue tint to the pieces. Also the blue will hopefully convey a cold, isolated atmosphere in complete contrast to my other paintings where I used warm colours.
