Information/Ideas from the trip:

  • Coal Trade –  the house is built from the wealth of exporting coal. Maybe do something with coal, an installation, my drawings projected onto the coal.
  • Fragments, tiny glimpses of a story -so many what ifs, fill in the gaps based on the things we know about it’s history and then imaginatively fill in the gaps.  – by looking at the past, comment about the present. Plausibility when set in a historical context. Play with belief. The line between the fact and fiction.
  • Look into the history of the fireplaces – creatures, french words – look up meanings?
  • Could work collaboratively?
